Within European funds are the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF), which contribute the most resources, the European Cohesion Fund, and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">European Funds deal with areas such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Research and Innovation<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Digital technologies<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Low-carbon economy<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sustainable management of natural resources<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I support small businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The overall objective of European funds is to transform the economy to make it more sustainable, digital, and cohesive. Furthermore, from 2020 onwards, a number of measures were created<\/span> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/es\/policies\/the-eu-budget\/long-term-eu-budget-2021-2027\/\">European programmes<\/a><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">Recovery and Resilience to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/strategy\/recovery-plan-europe_es\"><strong>These programmes are run with NextGenerationEU Funds<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In Spain, <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">the management of the ESI Funds and of the NextGenerationEU Funds falls to<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hacienda.gob.es\/es-ES\/Areas%20Tematicas\/Fondos%20de%20la%20Union%20Europea\/Paginas\/default.aspx\">Ministry of Finance and Public Administration<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>What are the NextGenerationEU Funds?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The <\/strong><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/europa.eu\/next-generation-eu\/index_es\"><strong>Next Generation Funds<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, along with the Multiannual Financial Framework, are the <strong>Financial instruments to support the economic and social recovery from the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic<\/strong>. The Next Generation EU funds have \u20ac750 billion to be allocated between 2021 and 2027. These European funds are applied to objectives related to sustainability, the implementation of renewable energies, energy renovation, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>In Spain, actions funded by European funds are those that guarantee compliance with the <a href=\"https:\/\/planderecuperacion.gob.es\/\">Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (RTRP)<\/a> approved in 2021<\/strong>. For aspects related to energy efficiency renovations, it is the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the IDAE, that is responsible for calling, coordinating, and monitoring renovation aid, which is managed by the Autonomous Communities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter wp-image-20634\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"811\" height=\"507\" src=\"https:\/\/evalore.es\/wp\/app\/uploads\/2024\/01\/NEXTG_5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20634\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Source: Photo by @peterbeukema on Unsplash. Edited by EVALORE.<\/span><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>What energy efficiency renovation grants are funded by the NextGenerationEU Funds?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Current aid as of March 2022<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idae.es\/ayudas-y-financiacion\/para-la-rehabilitacion-de-edificios\/programa-pree-5000-rehabilitacion\"><strong>PREE 5000 Programme<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is an energy efficiency and rehabilitation programme <strong>reduction in final energy consumption and CO2 emissions<\/strong> in the park of buildings in municipalities with demographic challenges. It encompasses actions ranging from<strong> changes to the thermal envelope, the replacement of thermal generation facilities and the improvement in lighting energy efficiency<\/strong>. It is intended for individuals or legal entities, community associations, owner associations, companies, and local authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Public Building Rehabilitation Incentive Programme<a href=\"https:\/\/sede.mitma.gob.es\/SEDE_ELECTRONICA\/LANG_CASTELLANO\/OFICINAS_SECTORIALES\/SUB_PRTR\/PIREP_LOCAL\/default.htm\">PIREP<\/a>)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mitma.gob.es\/ministerio\/proyectos-singulares\/prtr\/agenda_urbana_y_vivienda\/faqs\/consultas-pirep-local\">Programme<\/a><\/strong> The scheme aims to promote the sustainable refurbishment of public and institutional buildings for all types of public use: administrative, educational, care, sports, healthcare, cultural or public service facilities, etc. The projects to be funded must reduce non-renewable primary energy consumption by at least 30%. The aim is to fund two categories of buildings:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Line 1. For buildings to be renovated whose works handover takes place no later than 30 September 2024<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Line 2. For buildings to be renovated whose works acceptance takes place by 31 March 2026<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">according to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/boe\/dias\/2022\/03\/11\/pdfs\/BOE-A-2022-3851.pdf\">Official Bulletin<\/a><\/strong>, the deadline to apply for the grants starting from March 11 is:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Forty-five calendar days for the operations on line 1<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ninety calendar days for the works on line 2<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Aid pending renewal for 2022<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idae.es\/ayudas-y-financiacion\/para-la-rehabilitacion-de-edificios\/convocatorias-cerradas\/programa-pree\"><strong>PREE Programme<\/strong><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is an energy rehabilitation and reduction of final energy consumption and CO2 emissions programme for existing buildings. It had a budget of \u20ac402,500,000 and was in force until 31 July 2021. Like the PREE 5000 Programme, <strong>Grants are available for improvements to the building envelope, replacement of thermal generation systems, and enhancements to lighting energy efficiency.<\/strong>. It was aimed at natural or legal persons, community associations, associations of owners, companies, and local authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>EVALORE already has successful cases from this programme!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Assistance awaiting its launch in 2022<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Rehabilitation programme for economic and social recovery in residential settings<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is a programme that is part of the Recovery Plan. Its objective is to achieve more than 510,000 renovation projects in housing by 2026. This programme includes six sub-programmes of aid:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The rehabilitation of housing and regeneration of public spaces in neighbourhoods requiring transformation<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Support for rehabilitation offices<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Building refurbishment<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Improving the energy efficiency of homes<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The drafting of rehabilitation projects and the preparation of the Existing Building Book (LEE)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The promotion of social rental housing in energy-efficient buildings.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Previous aid before the Next Generation Funds aid framework<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>PAREER II Programmes<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This was the second round of the grant scheme for the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing residential buildings. It remained in force until 2018. Under this grant scheme, a non-repayable grant of between 20% and 30% of the eligible costs was awarded, supplemented by a repayable loan at Euribor + 1%, with a maximum repayment term of 12 years and a 1-year grace period.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>PAREER-CRECE Programmes<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This was the first call for applications under the grant scheme for the energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings. It remained in force until 2016. Under this grant scheme, a non-repayable sum of between 20% and 30% of the eligible costs was awarded, supplemented by a repayable loan at Euribor + 1%, with a maximum repayment term of 12 years and a 1-year grace period. In this regard and in general terms, <strong>The steps are as follows<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The person, community, legal representative or rehabilitation agent, must <strong>collect the identity and project information documents<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Must be<strong> Prepare descriptive reports on both the project and the energy savings achieved by the renovation.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ought to <strong>Calculate the amount of aid to request<\/strong>.
